Hello:)

Ok, the issue at hand is the translation of "When the chips are down, the buffalo is empty." This is a play on words of a commonly known expression that was then "Native-ized"

You see, when a buffalo uses the bathroom, the large, all-natural, buffalo scented landmines it leaves behind are called buffalo chips.

Therfore:

"When the chips are down, the buffalo is empty."
