That's very kind of you, Ron. Actually you may get your chance soon!

I hope some of our members are planning to join us for the grand premier of Luis Argeo's film AsturianUS in Charleston WV. The big event will be Saturday, May 12th in the evening. I think Ron has been trying to organize a bus or car pool for people from the Clarksburg area.

Ron and Sandra, Suronda (I think), Luis, and JoAnne and I will be there. Is anyone else coming?

Thanks, Ron, you're always so nice! In fact I've got my own buddy-list in this forum and you are in the top ranking.
I just wish I could be at the Grand Premiere of Luis Argeo's film on May 12th, but I hope you'll have a beer - or better yet, a bottle of sidra - to us other "forumites".

Gracias, Ron, eres siempre tan amable!

Art - Yes, my sister and I plan to attend on May 12th. I am looking forward to meeting some forum members. I found some details on the South Charleston Museum's website & am pasting it here.

Our grandparents lived in WV. Rufino Vega Sr. worked in the zinc factory. His Mother-in-Law, our Great Grandmother, ran a boarding house and that is where Rufino met Florentina Alonso. He would tell us that he and his brother needed someone to cook and take care of them and that is why he married Florentina... then he would wink at us! He was a sweet, kind, gentle man. Our Great Grandmother lived her days in Langaloth PA. (I think the spelling is close.)

I wonder if we could all meet in Charleston before the film, maybe at Gino's Pizza, since it's close?

That's great!

I've called Gino's. They say they have seating for about 30, so we should be fine.

Should we try to gather at about 5:30 pm?

I think that there are about 10 or so going from here. I was hoping for more, but a lot of us don't drive, or can't see to good at night for the drive home.

Ron, can we help out by car-pooling? It's possible that Betty and Roberto will be coming past Clarksburg, too.

Do other people need a ride? (Sounds like you're going to have a rolling party!)

What time do we need to leave your area to arrive at Gino's Pizza at about 5:30 pm?

Art and Ron, I don't believe either Roberto and Terry (his wife) nor I and my sister, Barbara, will be in the Clarksburg vicinity. I live an hour north of Columbus and will be driving south, but quite west of Clarksburg. Roberto lives in Canton and will no doubt be coming south on I 77. I believe Clarksburg would be about 90 min. east of I 77. We four plan to stay in Charleston and return to Ohio on Sunday a.m. I do not like to drive at night much either. My drive will take approximately 3 1/2 hours; Roberto's approx. 2 1/2. We will coordinate so as to be at Gino's at 5:30. We are really looking forward to The Event!

Given the growing size of our group, Ron and I are concerned that we may overwhelm Gino's. We've decided to move our gathering to a Mexican restaurant:

Los Agaves
508 3rd Avenue (In the old Shoney's building)
South Charleston, WV 25303
304.720.1567

The prices seem very reasonable. Here's a review:
http://www.voiceboxxwv.com/Cuisine.html

Los Agaves is just two blocks from the LaBelle Theatre, so it's convenient.
Mapquest directions from the restaurant to the theatre

We should meet at 5 PM, so we'll have time to get to the movie.

I've reserved a place for 23 of us. I'll need to verify this later in the week, so let me know if you change your mind.

The film showing is this next Saturday, May 12th, 2007, at 7 PM. Admission to the event is $4.00. There is another film on the bill as well.

The theatre is part of the South Charleston Museum.
