Como es una pregunta que cada poco sale a relucir, propongo un tema, que se puede dejar arriba, donde aparezca, y se vayan completando, las direcciones y teléfonos de los registros civiles de Asturias, hasta conseguir tener los 78.

Ley de 8 de junio de 1958, sobre el registro civil.

En los municipios pequeños, el Registro Civil y el Juzgado de Paz, que se confunden al estar atendido por el secretario, suelen estar en el mismo edificio que el ayuntamiento, compartiendo entonces dirección postal (y a veces teléfono).
Las demandas de actas siempre tienen que ser dirigidas al Registro Civil.

Sí, pero por desgracia, la mayoría están mal, pues pone los registros pertenecientes a las cabezas de partido judicial cuando cada municipio tiene su registro civil.

Ya sé que tardo en ponerlos todos, pero lleva su tiempo pues no es una información tan fácil de obtener, y desde luego no en la página del ministerio de justicia, que sólo sirve para confundir a la gente (muy probablemente adrede) u otras del tipo "vivirasturias" que solo copian la del ministerio, sin contrastar.

Por lo que sugiero modificar el comentario borrando las direcciones erróneas (todas en que el registro civil no esté situado en el mismo municipio), que son la mayoría.

Exactamente.

El problema es que no todos los ayuntamientos facilitan esa información en sus páginas web, aunque por lo general, en los pequeños municipios el registro suele estar en la casa consistorial.

Es un error que cada poco se repite en las distintas listas de correo sobre genealogía.

¿Borrar todo el mensaje? No, pues la persona que lo pone lo hace con toda su buena fe, y no todas están mal. Mejor quitar las repetidas y las direcciones erróneas, que son muchas, excepto, a falta de comprobar, las de Langreo, Laviana, Lena, Mieres, Oviedo, Piloña, Pravia, Siero, Valdés, y Villaviciosa.

The problem is that not all municipalities provide this kind of information on their websites, although usually in the small municipalities the Registro Civil is located in the town hall.

This is a mistake that is repeated in different genealogy mailing lists [and websites, I assume].

Para solicitar certificadiones a cualquier Registro Civil os recomiendo visitar esta página:

En la categoría de trámite se pulsa en "Familia" y luego se escoge el certificado deseado. Os lo mandan por correo en cosa de dos o tres dias.

My grandfather, Federico Menendez Arguelles was born in Oviedo, Asturias on January 11, 1911.

His father was Celestino Menendez and his mother Felisia or Felisa Arguelles.

I've tried asking the diocese of Oviedo for his baptism certificate but I was told there are 900 parishes and the records are not digitized. They said I need to know the exact location in Oviedo, but my grandmother doesn't remember.

Does anyone know the email of the civil registry in oviedo? or does anyone have any recommendations for me to find the certificates - either baptism or nacimiento?

For email, try this format: registrocivil.CITY@justicia.es
Just replace CITY with oviedo.

I assume that this format, registrocivil.city@justicia.es will work for other cities, too.
