good reason #1

About how much time should be spent on the trip? Given that I have to stop in Barakaldo to see the family for at least four days or so. One week? two? more? Also, what would be the best way to fly? to which airport? Once there, rent a car? or ride train?

if not now, then when?

Actually Is, I've wondered that myself. You see, I have family in Barakaldo (my abuelo's second wife and step-daughter and a plethora of cousins thru them). Also, my husband who is German/Greek, has his family in Athens, Hannover and Zurich. I think I'm due for a European roadtrip right about now. B...

welcome/bienvenidos

Hi granda, welcome to the forum. I can't imagine how isolated you must feel over there in Dubai. But, at least here at the forum you can almost feel at home. A word to Is.... Dude, I think you're gonna have to pack your own sidra for that trip! Pack a little extra for granda, too. __________________...

Amen to a flat tax! I don't mind paying taxes as long as it's used wisely to improve our lives and if it helps pay for health insurance for my family. Speaking of which, I'd like some input from members who live in a country where health care is national and not for profit. Do y'all feel that the qu...

Gracias Jose Manuel,
Sumamente interesante! Ud. creastes los modelos? Coolisimo, como decimos nosotros aqui en Miami. Algun dia, si Dios quiere, llegare a Espana y lo veo por mi misma. Mientras tanto, gracias por el enlace.

accents, tildes and translations

I'm having the darndest time trying to figure out how to write accents and tildes when I post messages, but I'm just not getting it. I followed Art's suggestion and added Spanish to the Region Language Options of the control panel. But still no luck. Also, although I am a native Spanish speaker, I d...

Do mainstream Spaniards regard Asturianu with the same contempt or disdain as mainstream America regards "ebonics"? Also, along that same vein, these government "handouts" you speak of, are they like the farmer's subsidies here in the States or more like out right welfare?
