My dad- Everett Rodriguez- recently found a box of family photos. I scanned them and posted them on the web here: http://home.comcast.net/~mrdrod/photos.htm Many of them are from family in Asturias, but I don't know who they are. If anyone has any information on any of them please contact me. If any...

Can I change my screen name?
Hey Art-
Can I change my screen name? When I first registered here, I wasn't certain what this site was actually like, so I went with a generic sort of name. I would like to use my name- Rich -as my screen name without losing track of all of my previous posts. Is this possible?
Thanks!

Hey folks- Thanks for the input. Even though I jokingly mentioned flying to Asturias, I suspected that would be the easiest thing to do. Unforyunately, with kids and college tuition, that is impracticable for the forseeable future. I have scoured the web, and while I've found people tracing their fa...

Locating family in Asturias
Hello everyone- I have been tracing my family tree and collecting information for quite a while now, but I've hit a wall when I reached Asturias. On my fathers side I have about a dozen relatives I've traced back to Asturias, most with dates and places of birth, but I can't find any more information...

Hey guys- I have been able to dates of birth, death and arrival in the US for most everyone back to Lazaro and Maria. It is just a matter of me posting the info on the web for all to see. We've been busy at work, so not much time to get it done. Ok, now some answers to the questions. As far as keepi...

Mystery solved! My mother was able to find the information she copied from the tombstone and it is indeed spelled with an 'S'- Alonso. And let me tell you, Maria Alonso (or even Maria Rodriguez) seems to be quite a common name! As far as information being misspelled or incorrect, I've run into that ...

Our Great-Grandfathers name was Lazaro. As far as the Alonzo/Alonso, the information my dad gave me had the name spelled Alonzo. However, I just located the manifest of the ship that Lazaro arrived on (the SS Umbria, arrived in New York on Feb 19, 1906 from Liverpool, England) and it stated that he ...

The only information I have is her name, Maria Alonzo, the year of her birth, 1883, and the year of her death, 1919. I believe my father got those dates from her gravesite in Cherryville, KS. My Aunt on my mothers side married a man from near there and has lived out there for years. Small world, isn...

Brian- I am so glad to hear from you! We are indeed related. I vaguely remember Lazaro, whom we caller great-welo. He died when I was only 6. I also remember your Uncle Art, who was known as Junior, though he was a good deal older than me. I don't remember your mother or Anita, though I heard a grea...

Here is the recipe for Josephine's chorizo. My father got it from Josephine's sister shortly after she passed away. There were no instructions on actually making it. It is just the ingredients she used. Bob has posted instructions for stuffing and smoking the sausage elsewhere. 20 lb ground pork- bo...
