Lazaro Rodriguez my Great Grampa/Howdy cousin!
To mrdrod,
We just started researching the family names this month and came across your post and this website by accident. We share a common great-grandpa. Lazaro & Maria had five children: Ann, Raymond, Sara, Julia, and Angel. Their daughter Ann had 3 kids: Sally, Anita, and Arthur. The lovely woman named Sally is my mom. She grew up in Donora. I recently found out as much info as I could from mom. She mentioned Cherryvale, Kansas and when we saw this we new for sure. We have found Lazaro's SSN from the mormon family search website. I am sending off for a copy of his original application to see if he lists any parental information. According to SS he was born June 15 1884 and passed Feb 1968 in Donora. The application for immigration/Naturalization was probably made at a later date. Mom (Sally) says that Lazaro retired from US Steel. I'm sure he was probably Union that may help as well. I will be happy to share with you all that we are able to uncover. My Uncle Art was raised for a time by Lazaro and then with his cousin Rody, by Great Uncle Raymond when his parents passed. The incredible thing about all of this is timing. I began this search because of a paper for school on immigration. I recently found another cousin Michael Rodriguez on Myspace His grandfather is Raymond, and father Rody. I am amazed and overjoyed that we found this site. My mother is visiting for the holidays with us in Texas She will be happy to find out all this information as well. Hope to hear from you. Brian

Brian-
I am so glad to hear from you! We are indeed related. I vaguely remember Lazaro, whom we caller great-welo. He died when I was only 6. I also remember your Uncle Art, who was known as Junior, though he was a good deal older than me. I don't remember your mother or Anita, though I heard a great deal about them growing up. My dad has some old photos of them when they were kids. I'll get them posted here soon.
As far as Lazaro and Marias children, Ann and Sara died before I was born. Julia was, of course, my grandmother; we called her Wela. We used to go visit Uncle Ray quite a bit. Both he and Uncle Helo (Angel) lived in Sarver, PA. Technically they are my great-uncles, but we just called them Uncle. Ray married a woman from Hawaii whose family had immigrated from Japan. That was Aunt Tomi, and Rody was their son. The also had a daighter, Alouina. (Not sure about the spelling on that one.) Rody had 2 children, a daughter Sarah and Michael. I haven't seen Michael in years. I spoke with Sarah and her mother, Maria, a few months ago. Rody passed away severl years back. As far as Uncle Helo and Aunt Carmy, they had no children that I know of.
I just started tracing my family tree, and started with my Grandfathers side, so I have very little information about my Grandmothers side. I would appreciate any information you can provide. If I turn up anything, I'll let you know. It's great to hear from family, even if you didn't know you were related!

lazaro's wife "mary" /maria
Rich-
What do you know about Lazaro's wife Mary? Any dates?
You said she was an Alonzo...correct? Siblings...etc?
Just spoke with mom (Sally) and the hamster was burnin' the wheel in reverse!
My wife has a cousin that has researched her family tree extensively and has access to Ancestry.com He said he would give it a look.
Also, we found cousin Michael (Rody's son) and is now a "friend" on our Myspace page that we designed to keep up with family and friends.
You can find us by searchin "Brian & Donn's spot". It is set to private but can add you as a friend if you creat an account.
After that, Check our blog for recent pictures. We just celebrated mom's 65th B-day. There are picutures of her and Art there, as well as myself, kids, brother Matt and sister Rebecca.

The only information I have is her name, Maria Alonzo, the year of her birth, 1883, and the year of her death, 1919. I believe my father got those dates from her gravesite in Cherryville, KS. My Aunt on my mothers side married a man from near there and has lived out there for years. Small world, isn't it? They took care of the gravesite for years, though I don't know if they still do.

New information
Hola Rich:
Marta.

Hi, Rich:
I went to the Corvera Court and I could find the data about your grand-father. He was born in Cancienes, as you suspected. In the document you can find also the names of your grant-grand-parents and those of your grant-grant-parents, and the places where they were from.
I'll contact you by e-mail to send you the copy of the document.
Cheers,
Marta.

Rich:
