Judy Frankel....Spanish Sephardic music history

Some of you may be familiar with her work. Judy Frankel, who just died after a valiant journey with cancer, was a good friend of a dear friend of mine in Berkeley, CA.

Her dedication to researching and performing Spanish Sephardic music dating back 500 years is most impressive as is her beautiful voice.

I thought some of you might be interesting in exploring her website.

Thanks, Evelyn. The sound samples on that site really are beautiful. Sephardic music resonates with something deep inside me, more than almost any other musical tradition.

Hmm. I don't think I've ever heard a man singing Sephardic music. Is that just a coincidence?

Gracias, Evelyn.
