Cuitu: pronounced COO-ee-too. Cuchu: pronounced COO-choo. Sustantivu (noun). Cuitu is chiefly West Asturian, Cuchu is its equivalent in Central Asturian.
Cow dung mixed with urine, straw, ferns or other organic material in the barnyard bedding and later re-used as manure in the Asturian countryside. Nitrogen-rich fecal matter of cows reused as a natural substance to fertilize soil and support plant growth. Anything regarded as dirty and malodorous. Cuitu verde refers to fresh manure.
Irish Gaelic, cac or bualtrach. Swedish, gödsel. Italian, concime. French, fumier. German, Mist or Duenger. Russian, navoz. Synonyms at dung, feces, excreta, bullshit, muck.
Usage examples:
Xose L.luis marchou cuitar los praos de pa Porqueira. [Xose L.luis went to spread dung over the fields near Porqueira]
Tu sabes el trabayu que ye cuchar tolos dies? [Do you know how hard it is to take out the cow dung from the barn every day?]
