Awww! Another cutie. I have middle aged kids and granddaughters, and I and my generation have to leave it to you younger ones to keep the lines of descent and the culture going (Well, OK, we can still work on the culture thing albeit a generation or two removed).

My very best to Elisa and her parents. I love babies in general, and I particularly love babies who will one day carry on some of what what is important to me.

Another beautiful baby!! It is so much fun to spoil and indulge nieces/nephews!! I love the name Elisa too.

How fortunate she is to be learning two languages! How I wish my father and grandparents had taught me Asturian and Spanish.

Welcome to Elisa!!

Fortunately summer time is near! And I guess French, although they're hard workers will stop a bit for holidays!

By the way, three weeks ago or so I met a girl living here in Avilés that happens to be distant cousin of yours (at least she thinks so). We attended a course together and walking back home I asked her where she was from. She said "I'm from Pola de Allande, but you may not know where it is". And I said "Oh yes! I've never been to la Puela, but I participate in a forum and there's a guy that always talks about la Puela."

And talking she told me she knew you and that someone had told her you were moving to Paris. Unfortunately I don't remember her name, but if I meet her again (which is quite probable, we live very near each other) I'll ask her.

Regards,

Ana

It's an oak tree (Quercus robur) or carbayu, Art. This one in Valentin (County Tineu/Tineo) is famous because of its age and symbolism. You often find thousand-year-old yew trees (teixu or texu, like the one in Santa Colomba, Ayande) next to chapels or churches because they were considered sacred in the pre-Christian era.

It's huge! Yes, I remember the yew you showed me at Santa Colomba. These Asturian trees are impressive.
