Hello to members. I have just found this wonderful website with so much information/history of my family/ancestors from Asturias. My Grandmother was Esperanza Ibañez (Perez) who immigrated and eventually ended up in Donora, PA. Her oldest daughter Libertad is living in Asturias this day, her middle child Sue Svrcek (Conde) still lives in Donora, and her youngest son Manuel Ibañez, is in Texas. I have been reading and recognizing many names of members I remember from my childhood in Donora. I know I have a few pictures of events/people from Donora and will try to find them and upload them soon. Lia Anderson (Svrcek)

Hola a todos los miembros. Acabo de descubrir esta maravillosa página, con tanta información de mi familia/antepasados de Asturias. Mi abuela era Esperanza Ibáñez (Pérez), quien emigró y finalmente se asentó en Donora (PA). Actualmente, su hija mayor Libertad reside en Asturias; su hija mediana Sue Svreck (Conde) aún vive en Donora y su hijo menor, Manuel Ibáñez, en Texas. He reconocido muchos de los nombres de los miembros, a quienes recuerdo del periodo de mi infancia en Donora. Tengo algunas fotografías de acontecimientos/personas de Donora, que trataré de encontrar y colgar pronto en el foro.

Lia, It's great to see your name! I travel frequently to Donora because my Mom has been very ill. When I think about wonderful Asturian immigrants, I think about your grandmother, Esperanza. She was amazing.
