Search for family of Fernando Fernández, 1839, Loro/Llouru

Post by fernandez1981 »

Hello everyone. My great-aunt Gracia visited family in Loro many years ago. Unfortunately, my family here in Maine, USA did not ask her for information about them before she passed away.

I am searching for information about my ancestors and perhaps living family in Loro. My great-great grandfather Fernando Fernandez (b. August 30, 1839) emigrated from Loro to Sangerville, Maine, USA in 1863. He started a small farm in Maine so I suspect he was a farmer.

My mother says that he was on a ship heading for Cuba, but jumped ship off the coast of Maine. I do not know if this is true.

I would appreciate help very much.

Kind regards,

Maryalice

Atentamente,

Maryalice

Maryalice, do you know the other last name of your great-grandfather? Spaniards usually have two names. Fernández is very common, so it would be helpful to know if there is another name, which would be the name your great-great-grandmother got from her father.

By the way, I don't recommend posting the results of a machine translation. They're not very easy to read.

Gracias, Luiña, Bob and Art. My great-great grandfather is the same Fernando Fernandez Selgas who Luiña found in the records. Is there a way I can find information about other relatives of his and maybe request the records? My heart would be happy to find out if I have family still in Llouro.

Also, my Spanish needs improvement but I will try to write some little by little.

It is nice to meet all of you,

Maryalice
