Can't see the clip because of bandwidth here in Algiers. But you're starting bright & early with the pinchos, Peter. With a few pinchinos injected in the morning, you should be able to do L'Angliru. If it's any easier for you to pronounce, just say 'un pinchin' (literally a small pincho). As I told you, the word tapa is not used in Asturias and is a dead give-away that you are foreign...

Peter, your description of the wizened little old man with the scythe conjures up an image of the grim reaper. I haven't actually seen anyone use a scythe in over 50 years.

Given the terrain, new brakes on your bike seems like a good idea. I would call the parts brake shoes in English, but I don't know what the castellano phrase is.

In any event, thanks for keeping us all informed of the progress of your adventure.
