Centros Asturianos en los EE.UU - Asturian Centers in the US

Hola a todos,
El pasado 13 de septiembre me encontré con Bob Martinez en la celebración de la fiesta de la Virgen de Covadonga (La Santina) en el Centro Asturiano de Nueva York.
Me dio los datos de ASTURIANUS y aquí estoy hojeando las páginas del sitio Web.
Como asturiano y por amor a todo lo asturiano estoy colaborando con el Centro Asturiano de NY http://www.centroasturiano.org y por supuesto promoviendo Asturias y su cultura a través de el.
Creo que no he visto enlaces a partir de aquí con los diferentes centros asturianos en Estados Unidos.
Si existen, perdonad mi error pero si no existen, ¿seria una buena idea de ponerlos en una sección? Evidentemente siempre y cuando sea fácil y caiga dentro de la misión y los estatutos de ASTURIANUS.

Last September 13th I met Bob Martinez at the celebration of Notre Dame of Covadonga (La Santina) at the Centro Asturiano de Nueva York.
He gave me some information about ASTURIANUS and here I am browsing your web pages.
As asturianu and because I love Asturias, y am implicated with the Centro Asturiano of New York http://www.centroasturiano.org promoting Asturias and its culture.
I did not see any links from ASTURIAN web pages to the various Centros Asturianos in USA.
If the links are somewhere here I apologize but if not, would it be a good idea to include them in a section of this web site? Of course if the task is easy and it falls within the mission and statutes of ASTURIANUS

Hola a todos, hasta donde yo se, existen 3 Centros Asturianos reconocidos en los Estados Unidos: Tampa, Miami y New York. Tampa y New York tienen pagina WEB donde pueden encontrar sus datos. El de Miami es: P.O. Box 940594 - Miami, Fl. 33194-0594. La pagina WEB esta en construccion, tan pronto la tengamos se lo comunicaremos.

Tengo el URL del centro de NY pero creo que hay una publicación del Gobierno de Asturias, Comunidades, que tiene toda la información de todos los centros asturianos en el mundo. Lo voy a consultar y te envío el contenido pertinente.

I have the URL of the one in NY but I think there is a booklet published by the Government of Asturias with all the information about the Asturian centers in the world. Let me see if I can get it and I will forward to you the contents related to USA.

I think Hilda might be right that Miami, Tampa, and New York are the official centros. But I've heard that there is a group in Los Angeles, or at least a banda de gaitas, but I don't know much about that.

There are also Spanish clubs around the country (two in WV, I think), but they are usually not focused on Asturian culture, although the members of the one in Clarksburg, WV, are primarily Asturian. I suspect that the Centro Español in Tampa had or has a high percentage of Asturians, too.

Creo que tal vez Hilda tenga razón que Miami, Tampa y New York son los centros oficiales. Pero he oído que hay un grupo en Los Angeles, o que al menos hay una banda de gaitas, pero no sé mucho sobre ellos.

Hay también clubes españoles en algunos partes del país (dos en WV, creo), pero generalmente no se centra en la cultura asturiana, aunque los miembros del club en Clarksburg, WV, son por la mayoría asturianos. Sospecho que el Centro Español de Tampa tuvo o tiene un alto porcentaje de los asturianos, también.
