Hello Brandi,

I believe that my grandfather, Rufino Vega worked with your great grandfather Luis Suarez Gutierrez at the Timken Company. My grandfather retired from the Timken Company in 1952. They both lived and worked in Clarksburg, West Virginia before coming to Canton, Ohio. I believe your grandfather, Louis Jesus Suarez lived in Canton, Ohio on Sandwith Ave. next door to the Tomargo family. My grandfather was also from Asturias. He was born in Oviedo, Spain near Avilés where your great grand father was from. I see your great Uncle died as an infant in W. Virginia. Two of my Uncles Julian and Jose Vega also died young (2 years old) in 1911 & 1912 in Harrison County, W. Virginia due to the Great Flu epidemic. I am also wondering if your grandmother's 2nd husband, Manuel Perez Martin was a Deputy Sheriff ? Please let me know if any of this is remembered.

As Art said, there is near Avilés a church (and the corresponding village) named La Magdalena. I´ll try to find information (I know some families there) but I would help if you post us the certificate you mentioned.
