Congrats, Raquel!

Ronzalez believes that his last name (González) has caused many problems for his family. I suppose it could be true, although there are plenty of Gonzalezes on this forum who say it ain't so for them. I'd guess that there are other, much stronger, factors at work.

We humans are very poor at determining the true cause of a problem. We often look at anecdotal evidence, gut feelings, and even correlation studies (which don't study causation) and then think we've found the causes for things. Not so. The scientific method was developed to work around our inherently inadequate thought processes.

Our minds, however, don't use the scientific method on auto-pilot. Even well-trained scientists have trouble using the method well.

After many years of making errors myself, I value human reasoning, but I don't trust it.

----------------

¡Enhorabuena, Raquel!

Congratulations, Raquel! Nothing beats being a grandmother! And that Baby González, let me say that I do not carry that surname, but it's in my direct line of ascendence: I am the great-granddaughter of Amable González Abín, and thus descending from a long line of teachers, writers, poets, journalists: the González of Nueva de Llanes.

Thank you Terechu and Barbara, grandchildren are blessings and I
am feeling soo good! I started knitting, embroidering and crocheting
things. The whole Gonzalez family is very sweet and very nice, they already have the Spanish citizenship.

tan bien!

Congratulations on the birth of Matthew...

It is a joy.

My Granddaughter just turned 16 on Sunday...can't believe how fast time goes by. Enjoy every minute because it goes so fast...you blink and they are adults.

Again...Congratulations!

Best wishes to you and your family, Raquel. Saint Matthew was also one of the Apostles, and thus it's considered a Christian name in Europe, at least.
Either way, it's beautiful.
