Searching for grave site c 1912 in/near Meadbrook, WV

Post by margaret »

Looking for grave site of the sister of my father. The Montes family lived in
Meadowbrook WV 1910 to about 1915. The child was named Angela Montes or Angelina Montes, and died shortly after coming to America from Asturias, Spain. She would have been about 2-3 years old. I believe she was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, but can find no record.

Her mother and father were Adelina and Adelino Montes ( possibly Zapico ).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Margaret,
I searched in the site http://www.wvculture.org where I found records for a few of my relatives but could find no record for an Angelina or Angel Montes. I did find the death record for an Affonso Zapico aged 5 mos. Are you sure that she died in WVa?

Yes she died in West Virginia. In fact, as I remember she died in Clarksburg where my Grandparents settled before moving to Moundsville.

She had an accident. At the time my Grandparents took in boarders. Angelina had a fondness for one of them. My Grandmother was washing clothes and had a large tub filled with hot water. Angelina ran toward the man and fell into the tub. She suffered and passed away about a week later.

My Mom was named for her Angelina.
