Sending money to Spain - XOOM

I have just sent money to Spain to purchase a gaita, which will be shipped to me. I used XOOM to transfer funds from my US bank account to the Spanish bank account of the recipient. Not counting the company's profit from the exchange rate, which is small and changes from day to day, the total cost to me was only $4.99. I would be significantly more for those using credit cards for the fund transfer. In any event, the process worked smoothly and, allowing for an intervening weekend and the time banks require to process fund transfers, with an acceptable time frame (about a week). XOOM customer service, reachable by telephone, was helpful and efficient.
