Where were you guys when I was living in the States? I had no idea that there were that many Asturian-Americans. In fact when I was over there I used to refer to myself as Asturian-American (I sort of thought that I had coinaged the word myself, silly me!) and everybody looked at me as "yeah, right, whatever"

The whole family was over there from the mid-eighties throu the mid-nineties. My father was relocated to a Spanish company in Good Old New Orleans. It was great!

We're Asturian-speaking and people used to wondered what on earth were we speaking on, specially Spanish-speaking Americans. It was difficult to explain, though. You ways would've been a great help back then.

Anyways, it's great to have found this site. I'm a fluent Asturian-speaking xixonian, and I'm also literate in Asturian (which is quite an odd thing) so if you have any doubts, fire away!
