Donora High School 1942-1944
I am at my parents home in San Diego and ran across my Mother's High School yearbooks. She attended Donora High School in Donora, PA from 1942-1944.
If anybody in the forum is looking for information on anybody who they think attended that school during those years, I will do a look up and scan any pages that their person of interest appears.
There are many Spaniards listed in the year books, such as Susie Conde, Anita Fernandez, Louise Fernandez, Margaret Gonzales, Elsie Muniz, Marina Rodriquez, Rose Marie Rumora, Beatrice Alonzo, Gloria Alvarez, Francis Fernandez, Josephine Fernandez, Jaime Martinez, Amelia Alvarez, Anna Alvarez, Mary Alvarez, Aquilino Bueno, Aurelia Bueno, & Frank Martinez. There are other names, but I am not sure if they are Spanish or Italian.
Anyway, I am leaving on Monday, and I am leaving the books here, so this will be my only chance to scan them for a while.
Take care,

Donora High School 1942-1944
My family originates from Asturias and my great-grandmother (Hermina Lopez) and son (Rig Gonzalez) lived in Donora until they recently died. I'd be interested to know if the Alvarez family knows my family as I believe Gloria Alvarez is my dad's godmother.

I'm not sure... Herminia was around 106 years old when she died! I can find out and let you know. Thanks!

==============================================
It sounds as if we are related! I still have Suarez-Garcia cousins in Asturias. I can’t remember the town, but we are thinking about visiting them next summer.
Is it true that Jóse Menéndez Gutiérrez was my Herminia’s (my great-grandmother) brother? Please let me know. I would like to learn more.

Hola Lisa, I want to make clear that my greatgrandfather was José Gutiérrez Menéndez and that he was from (in GOZÓN). He had sisters who were named Carmen, Pacita, Josefa, María and Herminia, and a brother Manuel. The husband of Herminia was named Alvaro, and Herminia fortunately lived to be 90. I still visit Cardo quite a bit because I have a cousin living in my greatgrandfather's house who is named Genaro, but we call him Pilo and his wife is Lupe. It was they who were in touch with Herminia, but it has been a while since they have known anything about her. You said that Herminia was your greatgrandmother? Do you have a photo of your greatgrandparents? I think that we are related Not long ago some American cousins went to Cardo to visit Pilo and his wife Lupe. I don't know if they were the children or grandchildren of Herminia. Kisses and till later [soon].

Hola Lisa.
Espero obtener alguna repuesta. Saludos
