I'm New

Post by karovan »

Hello everyone. I was looking for recipes today and just out of curiosity typed in Bollinas. My grandmother made these and unfortunately did not leave anything written down for us. She passed away in the 80's so needless to say we have not enjoyed our favorite pastries for a long time. Grandma was from Asturias region of Spain. Her maiden name was Ophelia Arias (one of 9 children) and she immigrated to the US in the 20's married to a Joseph Menendez. She lived in Canton, OH from around 1926 until her death. I was not planning on finding this site so I will have to find my info on our family history and post it at a later time. In the meantime, I am so happy I found you!

Welcome to the forum. The bollinas recipe is from my grandmother, who died in 1960. There was an Arias family who loved next to my grandparents in Niagara Falls, and one in Spelter WV (where my grandparents lived for 12 years or so and had most of their kids). One of the Arias brothers, now deceased, lived in Maryland.
