I don't know if the pulpo I buy have been frozen or not, but they are very good and quite tender when prepared properly. I've never heard the copper pot idea before - very interesting, but I don''t have a copper pot or a piece of copper to try it with. Most copper pots sold in los EEUU come with a tin lining, which - if I understand Mafalda correctly - probably would not work.
