Origen of Macarro

I have been researching the Origen and meaning of my surname, Macarro, and have so far found two possible solutions
1. It comes from a Scotish family named McArrow (which is how most native english speakers pronounce my name), who moved to Extremadura and whose name was Castellanized

or
2. It is from a greek root Macar with an -o ending, meaning blessed

Which one do you feel is most likely or do you have any other ideas as for its meaning/origen?
