There is also Google Earth, Available for download at
http://earth.google.com/ It more or less requires a broadband connection to work well (dial up is VERY slow), but it lets you see yourself as flying over the earth, zooming in on whatever you want to look at.
Some areas have very good detail and some are a little fuzzy. I can see cars parked on the street near my house. When I look at the cliffs overlooking Salinas in Asturias, I can see the gun emplacements from the Guerra Civil.
