¡Qué idea tan lista, Ana! La página del Instituto Nacional de Estadistica está aquí:
http://www.ine.es/daco/daco42/nombyapel/nombyapel.htm
https://idapadron.ine.es/fapel/FAPEL.INICIO?lang=EN

Se puede gastar mucho tiempo en este sitio porque tiene mucha información y está presentado en muchas formas.

You could spend a lot of time on that site because they have a lot of data and it's presented in many different forms.

Hi Jayne, and welcome,

Although I don't really know anything about most of those surnames, there is indeed an important branch of the Solís lineage in Asturias. They are descending from "Prior" Alvaro de Solís of Avilés. He was given land in the county of Langreo (Nalón Valley) by the emperor Charles V for services rendered, and, 500 years later, most of the Asturians by that name are natives of Langreo (Ciaño, Sama, Lada, La Felguera, Barros, etc). I have found nothing on them before that date.

The lineage itself seems to be Andalusian. The last "queen" of moorish Granada, for instance, was the Christian captive Isabel de Solís, who became the wife of Boabdil under the name of Zoraya. That was more or less 50 years before Alvaro de Solís of Avilés became prior of Oviedo cathedral, where he is buried. That's about all I know, maybe someone else has more info.

As Art suggests, check the link of the National Institute of Statistics (INE), where the distribution of surnames is shown on a map, and also specified by province.

Cheers
