Ship passenger lists voyages between Spain and Cuba

I wanted to see if there are records of passenger lists for voyages between Spain and Cuba from the early 1900s. I know that my great-grandfather was in Cuba before traveling to Tampa. I found where he traveled from Cuba to Tampa in 1908, 1911, and 1916. I have been told that he was sent to Cuba to avoid serving in the Spanish Army. I wanted to see when he arrived in Cuba and if the other voyages were the second leg of trips from Spain to Tampa.

Avoiding the draft (called la quinta) was part of the motivation of many who emigrated from Asturias to Cuba and the EEUU.

That's a very good question (and frequently asked), Jeff. Unfortunately, I doubt that there is much help available.
I asked about ship passenger lists this summer when I visited the Fundación Archivo de Indianos, the Museum of Emigration, at Colombres, Asturias. The Director, Santiago González Romero, and the Assistant Director, Elena Granda (?), told me that they were not aware of an easy way to find those records. We don't know if they exist. They said that there are a few scattered documents, but nothing comprehensive.
Part of the problem may be that the records involve many different countries and companies. Those ships traveled to a lot of different countries. I wonder, too, if travel was relatively unrestricted between Spain and Cuba?

No sabemos si existen.

After several deays of searching for my relatives, I found a website that has lists of ships and passengers.
Search the web for: Cubagenweb
I found there the name of my paternal great grandmother.
I hope you have good luck, too!
