Celiac Disease in Asturians?

There is something called Celiac Disease, and it revolves around a hypersensitivity to wheat, white flour products, and an ingredient in these grains called gluten. Apparently the disorder has a very high incidence in the peoples of extreme western Europe, particularly in the more mountainous areas of the Pyrenees, such as Asturias, and their descendents who still carry the gene for the disorder. It interferes with calcium absorption and proper bowel function, and can be a leading cause of diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
