Hello, my name is Amy. I recently started looking at my family tree, after putting it away for a while. I am enjoying the wealth of information on this site. It will take months to read it all!!

Here's what I know:
Secondino Fernandez married to Maria Alonzo (information from a death certificate).

Known children of Secondino and Maria are:

1. Balbina Fernandez (Otero) b. March 15, 1876 Aviles, Spain d. 1948
Balbina was a passenger on the St. Laurent, August 4, 1911
*Balbina had with her a daughter, Dionisia Fernandez b. May 12, 1898 Aviles, Spain. (My great-great grandmother)
Balbina disappears from any records I have found, but I have her death record, and her burial/tomb stone. She shows up married to a John Otero. I don't know who Dionisia's father is.

2. Manuel Fernandez b. May 10, 1902 Aviles, Spain d. 1928 (Typhoid Fever, in New Jersey)

3. Virginia Fernandez (San Julian)b.abt 1889 d. 1935
Virginia married a Mario San Julian, I believe in Spain because Virginia and her son Angel San Julian arrived here with Balbina and Dionisia on the St. Laurent on August 4, 1911.

They resided in Clarksburg, West Virgina. They worked as glass workers.

The family story was that Granny had a letter from the King of Spain for something?? She was also deaf and mute. However, she could read lips and could carry on a conversation. We were always told she was sick on the ride here, however I've never found any proof of that. I wonder if she was ill once she was here, and possible treated at a hospital in Clarksburg.

Does anyone know if there are any such records available?

I think I have wrote enough for now!! Thank you for a wonderful website! I look forward to all the reading material!!
