Hello, friends:

Ismael González has been awarded for his children tale about the asturian emigration to US (Chicago area) during the XIX century, entitled "Les puertes del paraiso" ("The paradise doors"). In it he describes the adventures and the life of an asturian boy that wanted to avoid the hard work in the coal mines of Mieres. He first arrived Cuba but, again, trying to avoid the Cuban war, jumped to Chicago. In the tale it is described the life of the protagonist in America and the yearning for his country.
