Hi all, I am looking for some information about my great grandfather. He was born in Pravia, Asturias and his name was Bernardo Lopez Granda. He was born in 1856 (according to family sources) and emigrated to Cuba in the late XIX century. I'd appreciate any information on this regard and your messages will be very welcome.

Hi Maykel, welcome to AsturianUS. The vast majority of Pravians migrating either to Cuba or Florida did not belong to Pravia itself, but rather to one of the many surrounding -and poorer- villages belonging to the wider municipality of Pravia: Inclán, Sandamías, Selgas, Corralinos, Escoreo, Villagonzay, Cadarienzo... It would be of great help if you could say which village did your great grandfather belong to. Cheers from Asturies.
