Pues eso creo,seguhn mi gusto,que la literatura de los USA es la mejor del Mundo.
Autores como Edgar Allan Poe,Stephen Crane,Brett Arte(no me acuerdo ahora como se escribiael nombre de este gran cronista de la Frontera),
Herman Melville,Henry James,WILLIAM FAUKNER,Hemingway,John Steinbeck,AMBROSE BIERCE,Henry Miller,Richard Wrigth,Raimond Chandler,Chester Himes,Jack Kerouac,CHARLES BUKOWSKI,John Dos Passos,.....
Indudablemente SON LOS MEJORES EN LITERATURA!

hombre! tanto como eso no! que admire la cultura norteamericana no quiere decir que admire otros aspectos de su sociedad.
Supongo que la mayoria de los americanos y yo tendriamos concepciones de la vida y del mundo completamente diferentes.

Belarmu, en cuanto a literatura contemporánea, estoy contigo. Los americanos tienen un estilo muy fresco, muy directo y nada amanerado. A mí también me gusta mucho Raymond Chandler, pero te olvidaste del maestro: Truman Capote. Cuando tengas tiempo léete "A sangre fría". Es una obra maestra.
En cuanto a clásicos, yo prefiero a los ingleses. Las fantásticas novelas de las hermanas Brontë, la coña marinera dentro del drama que bordaba Charles Dickens, los misterios enrevesados de Wilkie Collins. Eran otros tiempos y los escritores sacaban libros de hasta 1.000 páginas. Hoy en día eso sería inimaginable.

Belarmu, as far as contemporary literature, I am with you. The Americans have a very fresh, direct style, not at all affected. I also like Raymond Chandler very much, but you forgot the master: Truman Capote. When you have the time, read "In cold blood". It's a master piece.
As far as classics, I prefer the English. The fantastic novels of the Brontë sisters, the hilarity within the drama which Charles Dickens mastered, the twisted mysteries of Wilkie Collins. Those were different times and the writers would publish books of up to 1.000 pages. Nowadays that is unimaginable.

Pues si señor me olvide de Truman Capote y de A sangre fria que si he leido, de hecho siempre me he preguntado porque el idealista de los dos delicuentes, acabó asi, como un delicuente.
En cuanto a los clasicos ingleses extensisimos añadiria a Ann Radcliffe la de los Misterios de Udolfo,o a Sheridan le Fanu con el tio Silas,esas novelas goticas interminables en plan culebron.

Belarmu, en esta página puedes ver las fotos policiales de los dos tipos de "A sangre fría" , Perry Smith y Dick Hickock. (Baja con el scroll) El que tú dices, Smith, era muy raro, fue él el que mató a la mayoría. A mí también me chocó mucho toda su personalidad.

Belarmu, you can see the mug shots of the two guys from "In Cold Blood", Perry Smith and Dick Hickock, at the following site. The one you mention, Smith, was very weird, he was the one who killed most of them. His whole personality always appeared very striking to me, too.

------------------------------------------Sin negar tu aserto, creo estás afectado de grandonismo. si al menos hubieras mencionado autores de todo el continente americano aún habrias pecado de provincianismo.Pero mas bién te considero un bromista. pues ,si , bien , son extrordinarios,pero te olvidas de españoles franceses y alemanes , rusos si no es que alguno de los mencionados tienen truco ,yo no los conozco a todos solo a Steinbeck y Heminway, bukowski me suena a eslavo-polaco. pero desde ya, razón por demás tienes al decir que son los mejores pues todos proceden del viejo mundo menos los nativos de raza cobriza todavía no depredados, así que me los cite por favor .si , a los grandes escritores indios americanos primigenios. y creo que alguno habrá, busca en Canadá y en todo el continente donde estén los escritores de raza cobriza.
