A Rhyme from my Dad

My father used to recite a rhyme that went something like this:
Maninas muertas
Pican a tus puertas
Dice alcaraván
Que le dan un pedazo de pan
Dead little hands
Pecking at your doors
The stone curlew says
To give him a piece of bread
An alcaraván is a stone curlew, a bird sometimes found on the Asturian coast. The scientific name is Burhinus oedicnemus
Had anyone else heard this or a similar rhyme?
