When I was a child my Dad would make me a drink to "build me up" because I was so thin. I remember that it had an egg in it and it was sweet. Does anyone know what it could be and have a recipe for it?

Yes, Sonia, that was "ponche". I believe all children of every generation born before 1970 were given ponche after going through some illness involving fever or loss of weight, to rush their recovery (I always had problems with my tonsils, so I got it lots of times :)).

My grandma made it with Jerez "Quina" (sweet sherry brand), one egg yolk and some additional sugar to make it into a paste. It was eaten with a teaspoon and I remember it being delicious. All grandmothers swore by it.

Ok, it could be cod liver oil with condensed milk and egg yolks....it
tasted good but that fish oil ... ugh!
I prefered the one Terechu said, it tasted very good.
