searching Cimadevilla family in Oviedo
I want to find the names of the parents of Pedro, and Florentino Cimadevilla, brothers who went to Clarksburg WV from Oviedo in about 1913. Pedro was my grandfather, and I'm not having any luck with that last name. The name occurs mainly in Cuba and Tampa, FL , but my relatives went to WV, then Donora PA, then to Canton OH, to work in the zinc and metal industries. I've been unable to trace back farther than Pedro. I know he came by way of Cuba, and then to NYC. If anyone knew of Pedro Cimadevilla, born 1888, back in Oviedo, that info would be appreciated. He married Emilia Rodriguez Alonso, daughter of Carmen and Jose Rodriguez of Aviles. Thanks.
Welcome, Michele!

I'd guess that Cimadevilla is a toponomic surname. Cimadevilla is an ancient neighborhood in the city of Gijón, so the family may be from that area.
Do you have any records with his name on them? I'd be curious to know whether he adopted that last name in the US, or whether he had that last name in Asturias, too.
Also, I'd recommend using the tools on this page to see where Cimadevilla names appear in Asturias and Spain:
