One of our most colorful members, Fonsu Díaz, has a new blog about mowing grass with the scythe and sharpening the blade: www.thescytheman.com

Fonsu has won mowing competitions in Asturias and is now working with others in the US to promote similar events here. He will be demonstrating cutting grass with the scythe as well as peening and honing the blade at two Celtic festivals in Maryland this spring. Join us there! AsturianUS forum member Alfonso Diaz, The Scythe Man, won a challenge by a weedwacker at the 2018 Mid-Maryland Celtic Festival in Mount Airy. There's a video here: https://www.facebook.com/artzw/videos/1 ... 944351064/

Alfonso not only easily beat the weedwacker in time (although it looks like it required a lot more physical effort), but also laid the grass in a neat windrow to one side. Very impressive!
