Asturias was mentioned in a blurb in The Mountain Democrat (California newspaper) on 18 Feb 1991, and I thought I would share the information in case any of her relatives are on this forum:
Sole Martinez Montequin, an exchange student from Spain living with Dr. Earl and Marian Washburn and an El Dorado High School senior, was awarded a large scholarship for college. The scholarship was one of 15 scholarships awarded each year by the Spanish province of Asturias.
