Dada la cantidad de idiomas que coexistian en la época de Alfonso X "El Sabio". Este Rey se ganó el calificativo de Sabio por ordenar verter al Castellano todo lo que representava la parte mas relevante de la cultura de su reinado.
Todo el acervo cultural del pueblo asturiano representado en los cantares de la época fueron así mismo vertidos al Castellano. De ahí se difiere que los que hoy en día se conocen en asturiano, casi todos sean de época posterior a este mandato.
