Oh, that's funny! Thanks for sharing it. It's not often that I can really laugh at a joke in another language. It's the kind of error I might make (Venus / ve nos).

Otro chiste de asturianos / another Asturian joke

Post by Terechu »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A man from Madrid walks into a “chigre” where there’s group of people sitting around a table, opening and closing their mouths in a synchronized way, without making any sounds, and with an expression of happy satisfaction on their faces.
He asks the bartender in utter amazement: “What in the world are they doing?”
“Oh, nothing, it’s the choir of the local deaf-mutes and they are singing habaneras” (Seamen's songs)

Suddenly one of them starts turning extremely red in the face, the veins of his throat and temples swell and look like they’re going to burst at any moment.
The Madrider calls out “Oh, my goodness, that man is having a fit! Call an ambulance!”

And the chigreru replies: “Naw, it’s nothing to worry about, that’s their solo singer and he’s just started singing Asturianaes!”
